What exactly is an Adult Family Home?
An Adult Family Home (AFH) is a residential home licensed to provide care for up to six residents. It offers a more personal, family-like environment compared to larger assisted living facilities or nursing homes, ensuring higher staff-to-resident attention.
What levels of care do you provide?
We provide comprehensive care including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), medication management, health monitoring, and specialized care for dementia, mental health, and developmental disabilities.
Are you licensed by the State?
Yes, Bright Light Adult Family Home is fully licensed and regulated by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). We strictly adhere to all state regulations and safety standards.
What are your visiting hours?
We believe family is a vital part of our residents' lives. We offer flexible visiting hours; however, we encourage visits between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM to respect the residents' rest and routine.
How do you handle medical emergencies?
Our staff is trained in CPR and first aid. In case of a medical emergency, we immediately contact 911, notify the resident's family, and their primary care physician.
What kind of meals do you serve?
We provide three nutritious, home-cooked meals daily, plus healthy snacks. We can accommodate various dietary requirements, including diabetic, low-sodium, and vegetarian diets.
